The English Riots: Who Benefits?

At http://canspeccy.blogspot.com/ we read:

"The riots now spreading through Britain's major urban centers ... may not have been so spontaneous...

"We have seen how social destabilization in the Middle East and North Africa has been driven by an organized storm of Tweeting and other forms of digital networking, mostly in the English language oddly enough, assisted surely by agents provocateurs on the ground.

"Should we dismiss the possibility of something similar in England?"

Canspeccy speculates that elements of the government may have organised the riots in order to advance their agenda.

"What, then, to do?

"Spark a massive race riot, hold the police back until the thing is blazing across the nation, then use the disaster as the rationale for necessary restraint on immigration, thereby establishing a populist base for the right?"

The riots give the 'powers that be' a chance to crack down on those who might organise against the wealthy elite.

Max Hastings, a friend of the military, explains the thinking of the rich elite (UK riots 2011: Liberal dogma.):

"An underclass has existed throughout history...

"Its spasmodic outbreaks of violence, especially in the early 19th century, frightened the ruling classes.

"Its frustrations and passions were kept at bay by force and draconian legal sanctions."

We can now expect more force and draconian legal sanctions.

We can expect public sympathy to be on the side of law and order.

On 22 July 2011, not far from London, General Petraeus met Brigadier Simon Wolsey, commander of the British Army's 2 (South East) Brigade. Brig Wolsey worked at the Pentagon from 2006 to 2008. (General Petraeus tours Dover war tunnels) Also on 22 July 2011, Petraeus met US Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy Barry Richard McCaffrey. Petraeus was also in the UK in March 2011.

The police seemed to let the London riots happen.

'White boys ripped off the shutters, then a group of around eight or nine children went in and stole the day’s takings...

The UK's General Frank Kitson developed the idea of the 'pseudo gang'. (General Frank Kitson: Trail Blazing Fake Terrorism)

The pseudo gang works for the military but pretends to be a bunch of rioters or terrorists.

The idea of the 'pseudo gang' is to attack innocent civilians and then blame the attacks on the people that the military wants to discredit.

1998 - the CIA reportedly wanted regime change.

In August 2011 - we have Riots in London.

This reminds us of:

May 1998 - when there were Riots in Jakarta, reportedly organised by elements of the military, reportedly trained by the USA.

There may be no strong connection, but there are possible similarities.

In May 1998 it was believed that the economy of Indonesia had been undermined by hidden forces, such as George Soros.

The stock market had plummeted.

Banks had collapsed.

The Jakarta riots were sparked by uniformed men shooting dead four students.

CIA boss General David Petraeus was in London in March 2011.

The riots of May 13-14

On the 13th of May there were reports of rioting in the area around Trisakti University in Jakarta.

President Suharto was attending a conference in Egypt and the military top brass went off to Malang in East Java to attend a ceremony.

1998

On the 14th of May, serious rioting took place in the Jakarta area.

There were no signs of any uniformed soldiers on the streets.

Deaths

Over 1,000 people died during these Jakarta riots, most having been burnt in malls and supermarkets but some having been shot or beaten.

Alleged involvement of the military in planning the riots

Father Sandyawan Sumardi, a 40-year-old Jesuit priest and son of a police chief, led an independent investigation into the events of May 1998.

As a member of the Team of Volunteers for Humanitarian Causes he interviewed people who had witnessed the alleged involvement of the military in organising the riots and rapes.

A security officer alleged that Kopassus (special forces) officers had ordered the burning down of a bank.

A taxi driver reported hearing a man in a military helicopter encouraging people on the ground to carry out looting.

Shop-owners at a Plaza claimed that, before the riots, military officers tried to extract protection money.

A teenager claimed he and thousands of others had been trained as protesters.

1998

A street child alleged that Kopassus (US trained special forces) officers ordered him and and his friends to become rioters.

There was a report of soldiers being dressed up as students and then taking part in rioting.

Eyewitnesses spoke of muscular men with short haircuts arriving in military-style trucks and directing attacks on Chinese homes and businesses.

There were reports of children being encouraged to enter malls and then of the malls being set on fire.

There were allegations that muscular men with short haircuts had gang-raped little Chinese girls and then murdered some of them.

David Cameron is to expect regime change?

In Tottenham in London, the local Member of Parliament, David Lammy, has blamed people from outside the area for causing the riots.

The Daily Mail referred to unconfirmed reports that suggest a group of around 150 youths arrived in the north London suburb of Tottenham from 4 p.m.

Igor Gois, a Brixton resident and deputy manager at neighbouring Phones4u, said: "The police are saying that it is the youths that are doing this. But it’s not; it’s big men." (Streatham traders speak of riot drama)

"Rioters were left virtually unchallenged in several neighborhoods and able to plunder from stores at will or attempt to invade homes." (Britain burns: Riots spread through UK cities )

"This kind of behavior makes the police look like the good guys, which is why agent provocateurs are routinely used to stage such violence at major summits.

"That’s not to say some of the chaos isn’t driven by genuine grievances over police brutality and poverty, but the majority of the violence is being committed by mindless teenage thugs who have let themselves be molded by Britain’s broken society into Clockwork Orange-style droogs." "Residents questioned why no police officers were available to combat rampant looting as thieves methodically cleared stores...

"The most senior officer in Haringey left to go on holiday just hours before rioting began on Saturday.

"Detective Chief Superintendent Sandra Looby jetted off to Florida despite warnings the police shooting of Mark Duggan could spark violence...

"In the busy shopping street of Green Street, in Forest Hill, there were reports that 400 young Asian men had chased off up to 150 rioters...

"Residents in Clapham, Croydon, Peckham and Hackney complained at the absence of police officers during the worst confrontations...

JAKARTA HOTEL BOMBS, THE MILITARY AND THE CIA

On 17 July 2009, in Jakarta Indonesia, bomb blasts hit the Ritz-Carlton and the Marriott hotels.

Who might want to cause trouble in Indonesia?

Normally it is elements of the military who are suspected of being behind any 'terrorism'.

Indonesia's President, Susilo Yudhoyono, is a former general.

His party has just defeated the party of Prabowo Subianto, a former general.

Prabowo is suspected of having been behind the riots of May 1998.

Prabowo, who has been described as being a close friend of the Pentagon.

According to the Financial Times, 17 July 2009, ( Jakarta suspects):

"President Yudhoyono who was re-elected earlier this month suggested none too subtly in an emotional speech at the presidential palace that his political opponents might have been involved.

"While he did not name anyone, he left little doubt he was referring to Prabowo Subianto, the one-time son-in-law of the former strongman Suharto who was the running mate of Mr Yudhoyono’s rival and predecessor, Megawati Sukarnoputri, in this month’s presidential election.

"Mr Prabowo, a former general who has admitted to dirtry tricks including kidnapping student activists during the dying days of the Suharto regime, has refused to acknowledge Mr Yudhoyono’s election victory, citing numerous voting irregularities."

A September 2000 car bomb at the Jakarta Stock Exchange killed 15. Two members of the military's elite Kopassus commandos were arrested.

Then there was the 2003 Marriott hotel bombing in Jakarta.

Some people suspect the CIA and its friends were linked to the 2003 Marriott bomb.

"Something interesting happened just hours before the explosion shocked the JW Marriott Hotel, Mega Kuningan, South Jakarta.

"The US Embassy cancelled the booking of 10-20 rooms in that hotel...

"Hotel bosses said staff and guests had been evacuated before the blast."

Former Indonesian president, Abdurrahman Wahid was saying in 2005 of the Bali bombings:

"The orders to do this or that came from within our armed forces... There is not a single Islamic group ... that is not controlled by (Indonesian) intelligence."

Indonesia's intelligence services are said to work closely with the CIA.

Recently there have been reports of military bad behaviour.

In West Papua the Military and police are 'among the suspects' in the July 2009 Freeport killings. A bloody trail leads straight to the Indonesian army

Jakartass writes of the Jakarta hotel bombs of July 2009: "Foreigners have been killed, one of whom reportedly (and coincidentally?) worked for Freeport.

"I'm going to conjecture that it isn't the work of a fanatic Islamic group but connected with domestic issues - Freeport in Papua, the election, a corruption case ....." (http://jakartass.blogspot.com/)

Someone may be wanting to send Indonesia's President Yudhoyono a message.

"Indonesia agreed a deal with Russia in 2007 to get tanks, Sukhoi jet fighters and Mi-17 helicopters." (Indonesia says to lift defence spending by a fifth)

Indonesia is about to increase its military spending. (Government to Raise Defense Budget by 20 Percent )

Indonesia achieved a growth rate of 6% in 2008, despite the global economic turndown.

Is someone trying to reverse this progress?

Prabowo has been accused of being involved in attempts to destabilise Indonesia.

On 17 July 2009, Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said intelligence reports suggested there were attempts to destabilise Indonesia, including a plot to kill him. (Plots under way to destabilise Indonesia: Yudhoyono)

He showed photographs of a group of people conducting a shooting exercise with the president’s picture as a target.

"We have the video and photographs (of the training)," he said.

He said intelligence also suggested attempts were under way to sabotage his apparent election victory.

On 17 July 2009, Major General Wahyono of Jakarta police said that the hotel bombing 'suspects' stayed on the 18th floor of the Marriott where un-detonated explosives were found.

Top hotels in Jakarta have inquisitive security guards patrolling corridors and inquisitive maids checking hotel rooms. It is strange that nobody noticed anything odd going on.

Hambali

Reportedly, the CIA is active in Asia.

Allegedly it uses double agents and patsies in acts of terrorism.

It is worth repeating that Former Indonesian president Wahid said in 2005 of the Bali bombings:

"There is not a single Islamic group ... that is not controlled by (Indonesian) intelligence."

Indonesia's intelligence services are said to work closely with the CIA.

1. History Commons (Complete 911 Timeline: Hambali) tells us about the Indonesian known as Hambali, who was said to be in charge of Southeast Asian operations for Osama bin Laden and the CIA.

Hambali is believed to have worked for the CIA in Afghanistan.

From 1991 to 2000 Hambali lived in the village of Sungei Manggis, close to Kuala Lumpur, in Malaysia.

Hambali’s landlord said of Hambali’s visitors, “Some looked ... white.”

Fauzi Hasbi

2. Living very near to Hambali, in Sungei Manggis, was Fauzi Hasbi, an agent of the Indonesian security services, who, reportedly, work closely with the CIA.

Hambali played a major role in the 1995 Bojinka plot, which is believed to have been an Operation-Northwoods-style CIA plot.

Operation Bojinka was a planned series of 'terrorist' attacks which was alleged to include the flying of a Cessna filled with explosives into CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia.

Operation Bojinka was abandoned after an apartment fire in Manila on January 6, 1995 led to the discovery by police of evidence of the plot.

Bashir said the Bali Bomb attack was a conspiracy between "America, Australia and the Jews" and the three convicted bombers - Amrozi, Imam Samudra and Ali Ghufron - had been framed. (Cleric blames CIA for Bali bombing - ABC News (Australian ...)

3. Living near Hambali in this village were Imam Samudra (allegedly a key figure in the 2002 Bali bombings) and Abu Bakar Bashir, of Jemaah Islamiyah.

4. In January 2000, Hambali attended an al-Qaeda (CIA) summit in nearby Kuala Lumpur.

This summit discussed 9 11. [USA Today, 2/12/2002; CNN, 8/30/2002]

At the request of the CIA, the Malaysian Secret Service monitored the summit and then passed the information on to the US.

The CIA got pictures and video footage of Hambali at the meeting and already had pictures of him from a computer linked to the Bojinka plot.

In 2000, Fauzi Hasbi, Indonesian government agent, had a private meeting in his hotel with Bashir and the representative from Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), a militant group in the Philippines.

Indonesian intelligence had at least one other mole known by the alias Dadang.

A US Treasury press release in 2003 stated that:

“[Hambali] was videotaped in a January 2000 meeting in Malaysia with two of the September 11, 2001 hijackers of AA Flight 77 - Khalid Almihdhar and Nawaf Alhazmi.” [US Department of the Treasury, 1/24/2003 ]

5. In 2000, Christmas Eve attacks in Indonesia comprised a series of 38 bombings in 11 cities and were directed against churches.

Nineteen people were killed and over a hundred injured. [Asia Times, 10/8/2004]

The al-Qaeda affiliate Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) was blamed.

In February 2001, the Indonesian newsweekly Tempo published a cover story suggesting links between the bombings and the Indonesian military, the TNI.

The article pointed out that Edi Sugiarto, who was quickly arrested and confessed to assembling 15 of the bombs used in the town of Medan, had long run a car repair shop in the province of Aceh.

Members of TNI and Indonesia’s special forces, Kopassus, regularly went to his shop for repairs and just to hang out.

Phone records indicated that Sugiarto called Fauzi Hasbi seven times before the bombings.

Hasbi is a leader of JI, but Tempo outed him as an Indonesian government mole.

In 2005, two years after Hasbi’s death, the Australian television program SBS Dateline provided additional evidence of Hasbi’s long-time links to the TNI (see 1979-February 22, 2003).

Fasbi also called Jacob Tanwijaya, a businessman well connected with the TNI, 35 times.

That businessman in turn talked on the phone to Lt. Col. Iwan Prilianto, a Kopassus special forces intelligence officer, over 70 times.

Fasbi made at least one call to another key figure in the bombings.

The International Crisis Group, an international think tank, later commented, “[I]t is hard to avoid the suspicion that someone in the armed forces must have known that at least the Medan part [of the bombings] was in the works…” [International Crisis Group, 12/11/2002]

Paul Wolfowitz was US ambassador to Indonesia (1986 to 1989). From 2001 to 2005, during the George W. Bush administration, Wolfowitz served as U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense.

6. Jemaah Islamiyah (JI), the Southeast Asian Islamist group, was founded in 1992, and it is said to be linked to al Qaeda and to the US-trained Indonesian security services.

One of the founding members of JI was Indonesian government agent Fauzi Hasbi.

Hasbi helped arrange JI’s first major meeting, held in Bogor, Indonesia.

The Australian television program SBS Dateline will later comment: “The extraordinary story of Fauzi Hasbi raises many important questions about JI and the Indonesian authorities. Why didn’t they smash the terror group in its infancy?”

In 2005, Umar Abduh, an Indonesian Islamist who worked with Hasbi, claimed that in retrospect he realized that he and other militants were completely manipulated by the government. Complete 911 Timeline: Hambali

7. On 12 October 2002, bombs exploded near the Sari Club and the Padi Club in the heart of Kuta, in Bali. 202 people were killed and several hundred were injured.

On 16 October 2002 Indonesian police arrested a former Air Force officer who confessed to building the bomb.

This officer was later released.

According to a news story in the Sydney Morning Herald, 2 November 2002, the Indonesian security services may have handled the Bali bomb.

"Some time around the 30 October 2002, senior officers in the Indonesian military HQ gave a piece of information to a military attache from a Western embassy in Indonesia - the source of explosive used in the October 12 bombing in Bali was the head of the counter-terrorism unit with the army's special forces."

The father-in-law of the officer concerned is Hendropriyono, who was then Indonesia's spy chief.

Adm. Thomas Fargo, Commander, U.S. Pacific Command, welcomes Abdullah Mahmud Hendropriyono, Chief of Indonesia’s National Intelligence Agency, during an office call at Camp Smith, Hawaii, in January 2003 to discuss counterterrorism cooperation and mutual security interests.

Allegedly, Kuwaiti citizen Omar Al-Faruq played a part in the Bali bomb plot.

Al-Faruq was arrested in Bogor on June 5, 2002 and handed over to the US authorities.

Former Indonesian State Intelligence Coordinating Board (BAKIN) chief A.C. Manulang was quoted by Tempo as saying that Al-Faruq was most likely a CIA-recruited agent.

A Pentagon official in Washington has confirmed that al-Faruq escaped from a U.S. detention facility in Bagram, Afghanistan, on 10 July 2005.

The airline manifest of Garuda airlines shows that at least two generals from Jakarta visited Bali three days before the bombings and that they returned to Jakarta one day before the Sari Club was blown up.

This was confirmed by armed forces chief General Sutarto, who claimed that General Djaja Suparman was on vacation, while General Ryamizard Riyacudu, chief of staff, was said to have gone to Bali for health reasons.

General Suparman is allegedly one of the generals behind certain 'Moslem' militias.

He reportedly set up militias to counter student demonstrations in 1998.

One of these militias, Pram Swarkasa, allegedly became Laskar Jihad.

Bomb explosions in Indonesia have have often been linked to the military.

A bomb at the Attorney General's office in Jakarta in July 2000 went off one hour after Tommy Suharto had been interrogated by the police.

The bombs were reportedly traced back to the army and a former member of Suharto's guard.

A spate of explosions in the capital Jakarta in 2000 included a huge car-bomb blast in the underground parking lot of the Jakarta Stock Exchange.

Two members of Kopassus (army special forces) were convicted and jailed for that act of terrorism.

It was reported in the Jakarta Post that convicted Bali bomber Ali Imron had been seen, in 2004, having a Starbucks coffee in a plush Jakarta shopping mall in the company of top police official Brigadier General Gorries Mere. Imron apparently also visited the Hard Rock Cafe.

After Amrozi had been arrested for his part in the Bali Bomb, National Police chief General Da'i Bachtiar had a face to face meeting with him. Bachtiar laughed, shook hands and posed for photographs with Amrozi.

Most of the top Indonesian generals have been trained in the USA.
