Love in monochromes

From left: Yohji Yamamoto, Hussein Chalayan, Yohji Yamamoto, Limi Feu

I've been more and more enticed by black on black ensembles lately, notably this stronger love comes after a lot of time watching Yohji, Limi Feu (no surprise, they are family anyway), Commes des Garcons & Hussein Chalayan. Rad Hourani also took part in capturing my love for black on black-- the multiple layers of textured noir fabric is just too perfect. Sadly I can't get full-length photos of his Fall lookbook (if I do, I'll undoubtedly share). Karla also found Hannah Marshall (her staple color is black). Leather and chiffon? Three words: ME WANT NOW.

But for Spring next season, I'm pre-enjoying the playful palettes at Richard Nicoll.

SS09 RTW Favorites

1. Jil Sander

I love how Raf Simons has a fresh love affair with the future.

2. Balmain

Mm.. I echo the world, yes?

3. Richard Nicoll

Above all the somber palette.. Richard Nicoll is how Spring should be. Perhaps.

4. Commes Des Garcons

Rei is crazy. I love crazy. I also love ball texture. Yes to Rei.

5. Haider Ackermann

In love with how coyly sexy it all is and the angular zipper closures. Mm..

6. Proenza Schouler

The best slice of New York FW. Stuff of wet dreams.

London FW: Richard Nicoll

Perhaps, one of the best Spring showcase in London so far-- mainly because it's a tad bit reminiscing Jil Sander Menswear Spring '09. The dip-pallete blazer, femme hues colorblock, breezy silhouettes and the cheeky brocade display in the subtlest teals at the end of the show will garner high points on the scoresheet.

Mm, strong love..
