His mother ran out on him twice.
His father was frequently abusive.

In 2001, twelve year old Christopher, after receiving a paddling by his grandfather, murdered both his grandparents.

In 2005, Christopher Pittman was convicted of murder and sentenced to 30 years in prison.
On April 14, 2008, the Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal to reduce his 30 year sentence.[2]
